America Online Setup
If you're an AOL user and you've been connecting via dial-up modem, you'll need to make some changes to your system so that it will work properly over your new DSL connection.

Setting up AOL version 8.0 over a DSL connection:
1 Go to the Ameria Online website and download the latest version of AOL. Once you've downloaded it, run the installer it creates on your desktop.
2 In the "Welcome to America Online" screen, click the "Current Members" button.
3 Select the "Adding your existing AOL account to this computer" option.
4 Finish the installation by clicking "Next". You'll be asked to restart your computer. Click "Yes".
5 After restarting, the AOL installer will automatically resume. Click the "Next" button.
6 When the installer asks you to "Confirm Your TCP/IP Connection", make sure "Use TCP/IP to connect" is selected. Click "Next".
7 Click "Next" again to sign onto AOL.
8 Since you're an existing AOL user, select the "already have an account" option. Then type in your screen name and password. Click "Next".
9 You should now be signed on to AOL, which is now configured to work over your DSL connection.
