Spam Filter Setup : Outlook Express
These instructions show how to create an Outlook Express rule that will automatically move any incoming messages that have "[SPAM]" in the subject line into a separate folder called "Spam". From there, you can review these messages separately from your "good" messages, verify that they are indeed spam, and delete them.

Instructions for Outlook Express 6 for Windows:
1 The first step in filtering email messages will be to create a local folder on your computer.
From your menu bar, choose File > Folder > New.

2 Type "Spam" as the name for the folder.
3 Select "Local Folders" in the folder list.
4 Click the "OK" button.
5 Now you'll define the rule for categorizing spam.
From your menu bar, choose Tools > Message Rules > Mail.

6 Under "Select the Conditions for your rule" select "Where the Subject line contains Specific words".
7 Under "Select the Actions for your rule" select "Move it to the specified folder".
8 Under "Rule Description" click the "contains specific words" link.
9 When the new window appears, type "[SPAM]" in the "specific words" field.

10 Click the "Add" button.
11 Click the "OK" button.
12 Under "Rule Description" click the "specified folder" link.
13 Select the "Spam" folder from the list of folders.

14 Click the "OK" button.
15 Under "Name of the rule" type "Spam".

16 Click the "OK" button.
17 Now you can see the completed spam filter rule you've created. Click the "OK" button to finish.
