Spam Filter Setup : Microsoft Outlook
These instructions show how to create a Microsoft Outlook rule that will automatically move any incoming messages that have "[SPAM]" in the subject line into a separate folder called "Spam". From there, you can review these messages separately from your "good" messages, verify that they are indeed spam, and delete them.

Instructions for Microsoft Outlook 2002 for Windows:
The first step in filtering email messages will be to create a local folder on your computer.
From your menu bar, choose File > Folder > New.

Type "Spam" as the name for the folder.
Select "Personal Folders" in the folder list.
Click the "OK" button.
Now you'll define the rule for categorizing spam.
From your menu bar, choose Tools > Rules Wizard.

Click the "New" button.
Select the "Start from a blank rule" option.

Select the "Check messages when they arrive" option.
Click the "Next" button.
Under "Which conditions..." select the "with specific words in the subject" option.

Under "Rule Description" click the "specific words" link.
When the new window appears, type "[SPAM]" in the "Specify words..." field.

Click the "Add" button.
Click the "OK" button.
Click the "Next" button.
Under "What do you want to do with the message?" select the "move it to the specified folder" option.

Under "Rule Description" click the "specified folder" link.
When the new window appears, select the "Spam" folder.

Click the "OK" button.
Click the "Next" button.
If you wish to define any exceptions, do so here. Otherwise, just click the "Next" button.

Under "Please specify a name of the rule" type "Spam".

Now you can see the completed spam filter rule you've created. Click the "Finish" button.
