Spam Filter Setup : Apple Mail
These instructions show how to create an Apple Mail rule that will automatically move any incoming messages that have "[SPAM]" in the subject line into a separate folder called "Spam". From there, you can review these messages separately from your "good" messages, verify that they are indeed spam, and delete them.

Instructions for Apple Mail 1.2 for Mac OS X:
1 The first step in filtering email messages will be to create a local folder on your computer.
From your menu bar, choose File > New > Folder.
2 Type "Spam" as the name for the folder and click OK.

3 Now you'll define the rule for categorizing spam.
From your menu bar, choose Mail > Preferences.
4 Click the "Rules" icon.

5 Click the "Add Rule" button.

6 Type "Filter Spam" in the description field.
7 Select "Subject" from the first popup menu and select "Contains" in the adjacent popup menu.
8 Type "[SPAM]" in the text field.
